2005 中国羽毛球公开赛将于 11 月 8 日在我国著名的沿海城市广州拉开帷幕。本次比赛由中国羽毛球协会主办，广州市体育局、广州市羽毛球协会承办，是国际羽联级别水平最高、影响力最大的六星级公开赛。在此，我代表中国羽毛球协会，向来自世界各国、各地区的运动员、教练员和中外来宾表示热烈的欢迎！

    从 2003 年开始，中国羽毛球公开赛在广州成功举办了两届，已经成为具有影响力的国际羽毛球大赛，吸引了众多国际顶尖羽毛球运动员前来参赛，他们的精湛球技为广大观众留下了深刻的印象。同时，通过比赛，有力地推动了羽毛球运动在中国的普及和开展，带动了越来越多的人们参与到这项运动之中。

    广州作为我国一座拥有悠久历史文化又充满现代气息的美丽城市，具有独特的魅力。我相信，所有参赛者将亲眼目睹广州近几年来发生的变化和取得的巨大成就，并进一步了解、认识和感受到中国文化。

The curtain of the 2005 China Open Badminton Championship will be lifted on November 8 th in Guangzhou, a well known coastal city in China. The six-star match, which is one of the highest grade matches with the greatest influence in the International Badminton Federation, shall be sponsored by China Badminton Association and undertaken by Guangzhou Sports Bureau, Guangzhou Badminton Association. On behalf of China Badminton Association I would like to extend a warm welcome to the athletes, coaches and visitors from all countries and regions.

Since 2003, two China Open Badminton Championships have been held in Guangzhou. The matches have become an influential international badminton competition and have attracted a lot of top international badminton athletes whose excellent skills and performances have left deep and lasting impressions on the spectators. The events ， which have attracted more and more people to the sport ， have also promoted the popularization of badminton in China.

As a beautiful city which enjoys a long history and culture, while at the same time is full of modern flavors, Guangzhou has a unique charm and glamour. I believe all those who attend will see for themselves the beauty of Guangzhou and the great changes and achievements that have taken place in the city in recent years, through which they will further feel and understand the Chinese culture.
